Have now been in Beijing for one day. Amazing. Shanghai is enormous and Beijing even more so. The people are largely the same: Helpful, friendly, and tremendously welcoming.
I start the internship on Friday, so still have a few days. I spent several hours yesterday speaking with college students and having them correct my Chinese. Very helpful. It was a mutually beneficial exchange, Edward spoke pretty good English and was equally grateful for my assistance.
Kevin, how did you get there? Did you take the train or fly? I've always wanted to take the train from SH to BJ again (I did it several years ago but slept through most of it), but I'm always too busy to take the time. Someday soon, hopefully.
ReplyDeleteArrived by Train from Shanghai to Beijing. The night train left at 9:40 and arrived at 7:45. Took the "soft sleeper." "Soft" may have different definitions depending on personal experience! Very comfortable, quick, and easy.
